Terms of Use
Effective August 30, 2026
These are the same terms shown inside the Groove app.
What Groove is
Groove is a nearby, device-to-device shared music queue. Each Playlist is operated by its host device. Groove does not operate a Playlist server, user account system, or Playlist database. By using the app, you agree to these terms and confirm that you may use any device and music-provider account you connect.
Your data and content
You retain ownership of the names, nicknames, song requests, playlists, and other Playlist data you create. That information stays on participating devices and, when available, in the private iCloud Drive copy associated with your Apple Account. Groove does not own, receive, or sell this data.
Nearby sharing
A Playlist host shares the queue, playlist information, nicknames, and other data needed to operate that Playlist directly with nearby participants. Only join Playlists you trust and do not add information you would not want participants to see.
Music providers
Apple Music is an independent service. It controls its accounts, subscriptions, catalog, playback, availability, and rules. Hosting may require an eligible Apple Music account and subscription. Groove is not affiliated with or endorsed by Apple or Apple Music.
Safe and lawful use
Do not use Groove while driving. Do not misuse nearby connections, interfere with another Playlist, evade provider limits, attempt unauthorized access, use unlawful content, or harass anyone. You are responsible for your use of the app and connected services.
Availability and limits
Groove depends on participant devices, Bluetooth, iCloud, internet access, Apple Music, and operating-system services. These can fail, change, or be unavailable. To the extent permitted by applicable law, Groove is provided as available and is not responsible for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses, or for third-party service failures.
Changes and contact
These terms may change as the app evolves. Material changes will be presented in the app or through the App Store before they apply. For legal questions, use the support contact shown on the Groove App Store product page.
